Practice Nurse Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
CWDGP supports the professional development of Nurses working in general practice.
The Division's Nurse program involves a centrally located annual workshop. In addition, the Division offers a limited CPD program which is based on identified needs and current changes in the context of general practice. More information on the program is available on the Events calendar.
Information on educational initiatives, programs, and funding opportunities is disseminated to Practice Nurses through an electronic network. Please contact the Division if you wish to be included in this electronic distribution list.
The Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) has an 'on line' life long learning program called 3LP. The aim of 3LP is to encourage life long learning for nurses, promote continual professional development and help nurses maintain a professional portfolio. Learning packages attract CNE points. RCNA members and non members can participate. Members can access the programs using their membership number. Non members can subscribe for an annual fee to participate.
Another useful CPD site with some free 'on line' learning packages can be accessed at GP Learning. GP Learning is a service provided by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Simply click on the 'Free Activites' section to gain access. Registration is required for free on line services.
