Latest Information on Human Swine Flu Influenza (H1N1) - PROTECT Phase
Effective from 18/6/09 Australia has moved to a new response phase: 'PROTECT', which is tailored to the moderate level of risk posed by the new virus.
As the H1N1 influenza 09 virus is mild in most people, health system efforts will focus on protecting vulnerable people by providing them with early anti-viral medications and controlling outbreaks in high-risk institutional settings.
Updated NSW Health information for the PROTECT phase, including updated case definition and anti viral medications order form for general practice is available via the NSW Health website .
